OK, we don't actually have photographic evidence of dragon dance clubs, so we don't know what kind of kilts they wear. But we can say that Scottish country dance is a Scottish form of ballroom dance, influenced by French ballet, that has become popular all over the world. Two of our members first learned SCD while living in Budapest! SCD has a reputation for being fun, energetic, and elegant.
SCD may have its roots in the Scottish assembly halls of the 18th century, where it was an inclusive social event that welcomed all sorts and classes of people. Many dances are associated with a particular place, historic event, story, holiday, person, or poem.
Today these dances are still performed at social gatherings, weddings, parties, community events, dance clubs, cultural fairs, and in public schools.
