We have a lot of fun together! We're a group that takes Scottish dancing seriously with a light touch and an appreciation of the unique things that each person brings to the group.
Be sharp: Scottish Country Dance is the queen of traditional and folk dancing. It builds mental focus and concentration, as you gradually learn the patterns and movements. It can help improve your cognitive function and memory.
Be fit: Dancing is great for your heart and lungs and muscle tone, and it also improves your balance and bone density and coordination. On average, Scottish country dancers are said to have better agility, stronger legs, and a more brisk walk than others.
Be engaged: There is a rich diversity of dances and variations to explore, and opportunities to attend balls and workshops and other events with your new dancing friends. We enjoy a Christmas party together in December, and a Burns Night Dinner in January. We sometimes dance at local fairs and festivals.
